For years classroom teachers worked in isolation,interacting with other adults before and after school and, if they were lucky, briefly at lunch and during an assigned planning period.  The sharing of ideas and collaborating with other teachers was truly a foreign concept for most until a few years ago. Now, collaborative planning is a staple in the profession.
