A lot of money has been thrown at Technology over the past couple of decades. The problem has been many teachers refuse to use it, misuse it, or use it enough to keep administration off of their back. Many even have voiced the fear technology was intended to replace them. Even after many teachers get trained on how to use the programs, they do not use the programs effectively or successfully because they do not understand how to use the data generated from the program to assist them in differentiating lesson and assignments. Before you buy your next piece of software to assist teachers and students, time may be well spent evaluating the fidelity of implementation, program usage, and how teachers used the data.
